A World Without Photosynthesis!

Process of Photosynthesis

Picture

1.     Water is absorbed by the roots of green plants.

2.     It is carried to the leaves by the xylem.

3.     Carbon dioxide is obtained from the air that enters the leaves through the stomata.

4.     Chlorophyll traps sunlight to make it into a latent form.

5.     Glucose is formed.

6.     Oxygen is released.

The Importance of Photosynthesis

Picture

1.     Animals and plants both synthesize facts and proteins from carbohydrates, thus glucose is a basic energy source for all living organisms.

2.     Plants produce oxygen and make food.

3.     Carbon dioxide is absorbed into plants.

4.     Plants produce oxygen for us and other living things.

5.     Photosynthesis let plants produce fruits that animals and we need.

6.     Photosynthesis is the ultimate source of live for nearly all plants.

How will it affect the plants and animals if there is no photosynthesis

Picture

1.     Plants could not make their own food and would wither and die.

2.     When plants die, they would not produce oxygen. When we used up all the oxygen, humans and animals will die too.

3.     Some plants produce food that we eat. If the plants die, humans and animals will suffer.

4.     Without plants, we would not be able to get products made from plants that were useful.

5.     Some herbivorous animals would not be able to survive without the leaves of the plants.

6.     Photosynthesis can therefore be considered the ultimate source of energy that drives all their metabolic processes.
